Rasinn NouOur Roots, Mission & Vision

Our Roots

We are Dekouvri, a movement born at the intersection of cultural pride and mental wellness, dedicated to transforming how the Haitian diaspora understands and experiences healing.

Mission

Dekouvri is committed to transforming the mental health landscape within the Haitian community by providing culturally resonant, Haitian Creole-first resources and dialogue. We bridge the gap between tradition and therapy, creating a safe and empowering space for authentic storytelling and self-discovery.

Our mission is to empower individuals to uncover their own path to healing; one conversation at a time.

Vision

We envision a world where the Haitian diaspora thrives in mental and emotional wellness, free from stigma, judgment, and shame. A world where seeking support is recognized as strength, and where every individual is empowered to reclaim their story, their identity, and their peace.

Unearthing the silence. Discovering our peace.

Every Dekouvri touchpoint is built around the same anchor: the brain as inner landscape, roots as culture and ancestry, and light as the moment the hidden thing becomes speakable.

Position Statement

Dekouvri Position Statement

Healing begins when we are free to tell our stories.

Dekouvri believes that every member of the Haitian community deserves access to mental health education and resources that honor their language, culture, and lived experiences. For too long, conversations surrounding mental and emotional well-being have been overshadowed by stigma, misunderstanding, and silence. We exist to help change that reality.

As a Haitian Creole-first platform, Dekouvri bridges the gap between cultural tradition and evidence-informed mental health education through authentic storytelling, community dialogue, and culturally relevant resources. We recognize that healing does not require abandoning our identity; rather, it begins by embracing it.

Our work is grounded in respect, compassion, inclusion, and the belief that seeking support is a sign of courage and strength. We strive to empower individuals and families to better understand themselves, strengthen their relationships, and pursue emotional wellness without fear of judgment.

Dekouvri is committed to creating spaces where every voice matters, every story has value, and every person has the opportunity to discover hope, resilience, and healing.

Our Vision

A world where the Haitian diaspora thrives in mental and emotional wellness, free from stigma, judgment, and shame.

Our Promise

One conversation can inspire understanding. One story can foster hope. One community can transform generations.

MindRootsAnatomy of the Symbol

01

Brain

The mental landscape: memory, feeling, thought, grief, and the inner work that deserves language.

02

Roots

Ancestry, migration, family systems, rituals, food, faith, and cultural memory as sources of grounding.

03

Light

The epiphany of breaking silence: Mwen pa kache ankò. I am not hiding anymore.

A founder letter for the one who is tired of hiding.

If you found Dekouvri while looking for language, welcome. You do not have to arrive polished. You do not have to have the perfect words.

This sanctuary was built for the Haitian child, parent, student, elder, professional, and friend who learned to survive quietly. Here, survival can become story, and story can become connection.

Dekouvri means discovery. In this space, discovery is not performance. It is the quiet decision to return to yourself with dignity.

Mwen pa kache ankò.
