I did not grow up with the language of "mental health." I grew up with proverbs, with prayer, with the unspoken rule that we carry our pain quietly because we had survived too much to complain. But survival is not the same as living. For so long, our community has been strong for everyone else. Dekouvri is a space where we get to be human — to ask hard questions, to sit with difficult feelings, and to discover that peace was never as far away as it seemed. It was always in our roots. We just needed permission to look.
